catesta Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 (edited) I just buried the monitor I had since 1998. It was some piece o' shit off brand but it lasted for a long time, although I don't think it was doing my eyes any favors for the last couple of years. I went out and bought a View Sonic VA 720 flat panel monitor and I'm really digging it. I'm not really a computer guy so I don't know if it's good or not, but I can really tell a difference. Claude Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I have a Sony 19" CRT monitor and a Philips 15" flat screen both connected to my PC, with a Matrox dualhead graphic card, so I can have two program windows side by side. The small monitor is also alternatively switched to a server which is running all the time. I'll probably replace the 19" monitor with a 17" flat screen soon (same screen size, but much smaller enclosure). Quote
Christiern Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I have a Apple 22" Cinema flat-panel on my main computer, a Apple 16" flat screen Studio Monitor on my Mac Cube, and lowly Magnavox 14" monstrosity on my Mac 6500 (which I hardly ever use). My iMacs have built-in monitors. Quote
catesta Posted January 20, 2004 Author Report Posted January 20, 2004 I have a Apple 22" Cinema flat-panel on my main computer I saw those while I was shopping. Real nice, but it took $150 worth of rebates for me just to spring for what I got. You must know someone in the business. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I have a 21" Viewsonic CRT that I got used for $200. I love it! My screen resolution is set to 1600x1200!! On my music machine I have a standard 17" off-brand something or other. Eventually I need to get two 19" monitors... all that recording software needs plenty of screen room! Quote

I hate to remind myself of it, but Apple introduced the 23" HDTV-ready Cinema for the same price price a month after I bought this one. And they knocked over $1,000.00 off the price of mine! Quote
7/4 Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I have a Samsung SyncMaster 17" LCD. I love it! Quote

Big Wheel Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I've got a 19" Dell Trinitron CRT. After lugging the damn thing up three flights of stairs to my room every year, then putting it into storage again every May, it's all flat-panels for me from here on out! Quote
