sonnymax Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Having enjoyed the trio's follow-up on Hat Hut called As It Grows, I sought out the earlier Dreamer and find that I like it very much. Quote
.:.impossible Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 I bought his album Metal Rat on a whim a few years back. Thanks for the reminder! Quote
.:.impossible Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 No. Sorry it was Chinese Horoscope under Ole Mathisen's name. Quote
CraigP Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Lossing does a great job on Samuel Blaser's Consort in Motion, one of my favorites from last year. I haven't heard any of his Hat Hut stuff, however. Quote

king ubu Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 I've got three of the hats and just ordered the impressive Adkins disc from hat (w/Lossing), too. Still need the Blaser though... Lossing sounds like a pretty interesting guy to me, but I got to do some close listening... Quote
sonnymax Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Thanks. You're welcome, and thanks for renewing my interest in Lossing. Here's another good one: As usual, nice original compositions, plus some interesting covers, including Ornette's School Days. I like the addition of a horn player and listening to the results, I think Loren Stillman was a good choice. Recorded in 2009 and released on Fresh Sound New Talent. Quote
