Pete C
he sings nice, he plays great, writes good songs, has an acute historical sense withouth being coy - he's about 10 times more interesting a performer than that Pizzarelli kid Absolutely. Living in Brooklyn, I've gotten to see him a number of times. I also like the group Musette Explosion, which he co-leads with Will Holshauser. paul secor
Listened to the clip. I guess he's sincere, but I didn't hear anything that would make me want to hear more.

Pete C
He also writes funny, original songs in tin pan alley style.
Chuck Nessa
What is the name for "used to be jazz, now using the style without adding anything - no matter the level of quality"?
StarThrower
I'd rather listen to Mark Murphy.
Quasimado
What is the name for "used to be jazz, now using the style without adding anything - no matter the level of quality"? Didn't sound much like "used to be jazz" to me ... Q
Pete C
I'd rather listen to Mark Murphy. I love Murphy, and he's by far the more profound singer, but that's apples & oranges.
