Thanks for posting this. There are things that bother me about Rascher's playing, but he's still one of my heroes. I've got a fairly nice copy of his Concert Hall Society album A Classical Recital on the Saxophone, from 1950 or so, and it's a pretty strong contender for the top of my "best classical saxophone records" list.

There's things that bother me about that whole style of playing in general :g but I dug how this was a thoroughly "modern" "light classical" piece, and how nobody f-ed it up by getting too heavy in the interpretation. Very tasteful, and that main theme really really could be a Horace Silver tune!
