colinmce
Yep. I've often been curious about the Liebman/Eskelin/Marino/Black group. Any one particularly better than the others?
jlhoots
Santa Cruz - someone on this board who shall remain nameless allegedly had Santa Cruz for sale at Amazon marketplace. I ordered it, received a shipping notice & then (oops) he didn't have it. Rapid refund. I'll believe the reissue when I see it.

AAJ / Marc CorrotoThis is an excellent album, certainly for anyone who enjoys the music ofeither Brotz or McPhee. It is rooted in the blues, in ballads expressing a deep mournfulness, but it is by no means traditional sounding. It does lean more toward American free jazz than most European free improvisation. It is more melodic and conventionally structured than many Brotzmann recordings, based on themes rather than being totally free. ***** – Autonomeus on September 23, 2014Herbert Distel : Travelogue hatOLOGY 734 (new release) 752156073420Die Reise (Yourney/Trip) and La Stazione (Rail Station) are available as Rail Notes on hatOLOGY 2-594.Thank you for your support. David Ayers
In spite of the moaning this label is keeping things alive. A welcome reissue for the Braxton/Lewis Donaueschingen duo is now slated, and what seems to be a previously unreleased Braxton solo, Bern 1984. No doubt in the same retarded digipaks that completely scratch up the discs. Do you store your Hat CDs inside those foldouts? If so, take a few out, inspect under direct lamplight, and weep, or moan if you prefer. Years of promises without an actual reissue of said albums seeing the light of day is a fact. A tentative start to deliver on old promises is what we are seeing here. Swift reissues of Garden and Santa Cruz parts 2 would go a long way towards building confidence. I never really understand the negativity towards this label. A small independent releasing good music on a semi-regular basis. We all have frustrations about reissue programmes but let's remember if it hadn't been recorded in the first instance it wouldn't even be on the reissue agenda. I don't see any of the naysayers getting out there and recording new music themselves either good to hear Braxton/Lewis is on its way. I'll enjoy that one

David Ayers
The future releases page at Hat has now shifted around a little. Braxton Willisau is slated to arrive in FOUR instalments.  Ayler/Cherry European Radio Recordings is new to me. Couple other things might float some boats.
johnblitweiler
If the Ayler/Cherry radio recordings CD is the same Ayler/Cherry music that was in the Revenant Ayler box, that is some absolutely wonderful music. A must-hear. David Ayers
Thanks, John. I guess it might be, and I haven't heard the box. As for selling previous 2 and 4 CD sets as singles, I think it 's a good idea. I am pleased that it worked for Santa Cruz and Garden. This music is all on the streaming services and in any case people can carpe diem it. So CDs now are for people who can and do pay, because they simply want the hard copy and/or because they rightly see purchasing recordings as a form of sponsorship. We wanted to see this stuff back on the shelf in Ray's Jazz - and it is.
