Dan Gould Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Seems useful for checking out fresh talent; not so sure I'd be motivated to go looking for specific people since commercials are my trigger to channel-surf. But its an appalling beauty-ist concept. Why only "hot ad girls"? What if I really want to know who Flo is from the Progressive ads? Not exactly a hot ad girl but ... Quote
Larry Kart Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Hey -- Flo gets me hot. I mean, she seems so jolly and eager to please. Quote
JSngry Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 I thought everybody knew by now who Flo was. Stephanie Courtney. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephanie_Courtney http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0183960/ Quote
Larry Kart Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 And she has a degree in criminology. I'm there. Quote
jazzbo Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 As a former Progressive employee (worked three.five months last year) I avoid her commercials. Nothing against Stephanie, or Progressive itself really, I just was too saturated with her there and with silly questions or comments about her from customers. Quote
Dan Gould Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 The point was that, Larry aside, Flo probably doesn't fall under the cateogry of "HOT Ad Girls" and that's discrimatory to the universe of not-quite-beautiful people. And what about Hot Ad Boys? Its sexist too. I'll stop now. Quote
jazzbo Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Yeah, I know the point, that was just an aside. And I agree with Larry that Stephanie is hot enough. Give me a warm and understanding gal with some life-experience and I'll find that adds a lot of hotness to the equation. Sexist site? Of course it is. So is the Sexiest Album Thread. So what? Quote
JSngry Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 Hot Ad Girls is not discriminatory, it does not prevent another site from making its own determinations as to who/what qualifies. There's absolutely nothing to prevent a Ad Girls Not Covered By Hot Ad Girls Who We Think Should Have Been from being created, although a snappier site name might be advised. Hot Ad Girls is an expression of opinion, and when opinion becomes perceived as discrimination, well, then we'll have a Communist Internet. You know the saddest tale of all Hot Ad Girls? Erin E-Surance, the Hottest Ad Girl EVER, past, present, or future. What she did in her private life was nobody's business, and for her to be persecuted for it by her employer is fundamentally wrong. Avenge Erin!!!! Quote
GA Russell Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 LL Bean has in the past year started using in their catalogue a young thing whom I think is gorgeous. You can see her here with the "Get Set for Spring with Classic Women's Styles" photo. http://www.llbean.com/ Quote
