DannyLuciano Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) This is a collaborated effort from my friends Saxophonist Joe Fortunato & Guitarist Lou Gagliardi.Joe Fortunato basically showcased organist Joey DeFrancesco at an early age while PaPa John Defrancesco was working with Frotunato's ACT-III trio. This recording consists of five popular standard songs featuring the unreleased version of “Moonlight in Vermont” – “Body & Soul” plus others including the romantic lush sounds of a Saxophone & Guitar duo to be enjoyed. All tracks have been made available for your listening pleasure. http://www.dannyluci...liardi-duo.html Edited January 2, 2012 by Danny Luciano Quote
AllenLowe Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 wait - if this is a "new album released" and it has Moonlight in Vermont on it, then how can it be the unreleased version? I'm confused. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Street team don't care. Street team don't give a fuck. Quote
JSngry Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Y'all back the fuck off - this was released for my listening pleasure. The guy said so. Quote
JSngry Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 Now I've got to convince them to release that unreleased version and unrelease the released one. I would do that for you guys, I would. Quote
JSngry Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 After sleeping on it, I think the whole thing should be recalled, rerecorded, and reunreleased. With today's technology, there's no excuse for not getting it right the second time. Quote
king ubu Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 Had no idea Lucky Luciano was a jazz guitarist Quote
Leeway Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 Had no idea Lucky Luciano was a jazz guitarist Yup. Never heard anyone criticize him either Quote
sonnymax Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Any of you wise guys bother to listen to the samples Danny linked? Mind you, it's nothing earth-shattering or innovative, but the music is competently played and quite enjoyable. Very few guitar/sax duo recordings out there. It deserves a listen, imo. Sorry to learn Mr. Fortunato passed away last October. Edited December 31, 2011 by sonnymax Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 31, 2011 Report Posted December 31, 2011 I don't mind if people come here to tout their releases. That should be a part of a vibrant jazz community, imo. I'd appreciate a little less snarkiness. Thanks. Quote
