The Japanese version I have has six bonus tracks—all alternate takes with a bit of studio chatter. Man, Hartman's speaking voice is a lot different than his singing voice! The difference is kind of surprising. I didn't know that, in 2001, this album was reissued on compact disc: Anyone here have it? I've never heard it. Milestones Posted May 9, 2022 Report Posted May 9, 2022 An unexpected collaboration, but maybe we would say the same about the Coltrane meeting--and that one worked out! Quote
mjzee Posted May 9, 2022 Report Posted May 9, 2022 Avid just came out with a two-CD set that includes Just You Just Me, All Of Me, Songs From The Heart, And I Thought About You, and the vocals with Andrew Hill. Quote
Late Posted February 4, 2023 Report Posted February 4, 2023 This has been on YouTube for over 10 years now, and I stumbled upon it just today. Is it really from 1983? Hartman died in September of 1983. Quote
Daniel A Posted February 4, 2023 Report Posted February 4, 2023 Here is another recording of Lush Life, which is said to be from 1983: https://youtu.be/ILDqWHutba0 Hartman's appearance is similar, so these clips may be from around the same time. According to a comment from Hartman biographer Gregg Akkerman: "It was taped in April 1983 and he had not yet been diagnosed with cancer [...] This is probably his final performance anywhere." Quote
