Late Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I've never seen the attached cover until today. Is it the original cover? (Or a 10" cover?) Reid Miles designed it. Quote
Stereojack Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 I've never seen the attached cover until today. Is it the original cover? (Or a 10" cover?) Reid Miles designed it. Definitely a 12 inch cover. Quote
Late Posted October 2, 2011 Author Report Posted October 2, 2011 It was the 2nd cover. Any idea why there might have been two covers? A Google search yielded that the above cover was a mono pressing while the other (red/purple) cover was the "hi-fi" pressing. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 It gives more attention to Clifford Brown. Quote
Larry Kart Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 CD reissue, but this was the cover of the original LP: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&rlz=&q=sonny+rollins+plus+four+lp&gs_upl=1461l6574l0l10428l23l23l0l8l8l0l197l2072l3.12l15l0&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=8040273439003800100&sa=X&ei=5MWITqrmD-eFsgKI892zDw&ved=0CEgQ8gIwBA I bought it at E.J. brownie Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 Prestige on rare occasions changed the cover of albums. The original cover of Coltrane's 'Traneing In', at left, (Mark Rice design), was replaced by the other one (Esmond Edwards photo): Quote
sidewinder Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 Interesting - I assume that that is the 'Status'-era issue from the mid-60s. The UK Transatlantic LP has the same design. Quote
