B. Goren. Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 Very nice weather in Tel-Aviv: 24°C and low humidity. This is the right time to go to the beach. Quote
cih Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 I have to say, I love rain - though I'd prefer it warm. I just read the biog of Kenneth Williams and he felt the same - it's the way it deters other people and keeps the pavements clear. Also I don't have much hair to get messed up. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Lots of flooding at present though all it's done in the Midlands is glower. The south east seems to have got the worst of it. Friday looks dreadful! And yet: The Met Office said the UK was still below its average rainfall for the time of year. Between January and May, 392.5mm of rain fell across the country, compared to an average of 439mm. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18391200 Must be a barbecue summer just up ahead! Quote
mjazzg Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 London's simply drenched. rained non-stop for 24 hours it seems with more promised tomorrow. that's enough for me, now. This is the summer, after all Quote

Free For All Posted June 11, 2012 Report Posted June 11, 2012 Back home in north Florida it's flooding. Here in northern Colorado everything's on fire. Quote

mjazzg Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 something most disturbing and disconcerting has happened in London today, the sky's changed colour to this very unusual (but not unpleasant) shade of blue. Also, there's an uncomfortably bright light emanating from above which appears to bring warmth - help! Quote

Also, there's an uncomfortably bright light emanating from above which appears to bring warmth - help! I did a 250 mile drive South from Lancashire today down the M6 and couldn't believe the number of storm transitions I went through. For some reason, Stoke and thereabouts was the epicentre of the worst of it. Grim ! Quote

A Lark Ascending Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) I always found Art a bit wet He spent a great deal of time trying to bridge troubled waters which might explain it. With bright eyes like his you'd think he'd be able to steer clear. Have you noticed this thread seems to have become a British preserve? We're living up to our stereotype, guys! But of course. We've got to be good at something. We used to be very good at invading other countries. Even better at making out that we were doing it for their own good. *************** If my phone is to be believed it really is time to start building that Ark. sidewinder Posted June 14, 2012 Report Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) Too true. And we have a particularly bad couple of expensive and ill-advised "Exhibit As" from the not very distant past. Needless to say, I ain't talking about the Falklands.. Back to the main bill - sun's out ! Edited June 14, 2012 by sidewinder Quote
