Shawn Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Going to work shortly. The weatherman is calling for upwards of a foot or possibly more of snow beginning midday! ! On lunch break right now and the snow is coming down hard. This sucks. My Mother sent me an email and said it's snowing in West Virginia today as well, looks like winter is starting early back east. Leeway Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Snowing heartily in DC. Was not supposed to be more than few flakes, per "forecast." . Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 Bitterly cold last few days but virtually no moisture. We're assured snow today - the first this winter. My area has it arriving at 3.00 pm, white-out by 6.00 pm. Let's see... Quote

Pete C Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 New York was in the 60s on Wednesday. Fort Lauderdale was clear and in the 70s on Thursday. Mexico City was in the upper 60s yesterday afternoon and is clear and crisp this morning, shaping up to be a beautiful day. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 First flurries at 2.35. Now coming down more seriously (4.10) and settling. Where's Bing and Rosemary when you need them? Quote

BillF Posted February 4, 2012 Author Report Posted February 4, 2012 First flurries at 2.35. Now coming down more seriously (4.10) and settling. This is an east/west thing. Left Southport at 2p.m. where it was raining (was there to hear the Brandon Allen Sextet); by the time I'd reached Wigan it had turned to snow. Wife is in London for the day; hope she makes it back! No snow here in downtown Cornwall. Had our first frosts of the winter this week. Quote
sidewinder Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) Snowfall out here yesterday afternoon. Damn freezing too . Looks like it's warming up a bit and starting to thaw out this morning though. Wife is in London for the day; hope she makes it back! I have to head out there tomorrow. Hope the trains are running otherwise I'm scuppered ! Edited February 5, 2012 by sidewinder Quote
BFrank Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 60s here in SF, too. Been like this most of the "winter" (if you could call it that). Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Went like clockwork as the weather people said. A lovely white landscape out there at the moment. Hope it warms enough to shift. Snow and schools do not a good mix make. Quote
sidewinder Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 It's now melted - blimey, that was quick ! Quote

B. Goren. Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Last week was very rainy here in Tel Aviv but this weekend we can start smelling the spring. Quote

There are problems on the West Coast main line this weekend - but because of a derailment at Bletchley on Friday. Hope the trip in the car this evening to Southport to see the Greg Abate/Jim Rotundi quintet isn't blighted by freezing fog, which we have at the moment. Quote
JohnS Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Not a sign of snow here, just some light rain last evening. Quote
Tim McG Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Too friggin' hot. 90s in April...ugh. Quote
JSngry Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Maybe the flying18-wheelers collected all the bad mojo out of the it, because we've had beautiful weather nonstop ever since. Days in the mid-70s (at most), nice breezes all day, warm but not hot sunshine, birds singing happy songs all day, that kind of thing. Whenever the inevitable Summer Hell gets here, it will be too soon. Quote
kinuta Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Cold and grey, too much rain. More like Sheffield than Tokyo. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Thunderstorms. The first real rain in months. Heavy rains expected the next few days. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Cold and grey, too much rain. More like Sheffield than Tokyo. Sheffield was the wettest place in Britain a few days back (it's usually Capel Curig in Wales). And Britain is currently very wet. Wimbeldon weather. Quote
