Norah Jones fan Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I am buzzing with excitement about the new Norah CD. I joined this board to discuss what others are feeling. Norah has such excitement in her music and voice. How many of the rest of the people here feel this way too? If you like, you can pre order the CD and it will get shipped the date of its release, the 10th of Frbruary. I just wonder why it's getting released a day early in other countries? Does anyone have the answer to this? Thanks Debbie Quote

Norah Jones fan Posted January 13, 2004 Author Report Posted January 13, 2004 why the two weird replies? Doesn't Norah get discussed on this board? Quote
JSngry Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I just wonder why it's getting released a day early in other countries? Part of our ongoing policy of preemptive stikes, I suppose.' Seriously, I like Norah, and am looking forward to hearing her new album, but if you are expecting to find a love-fest for all things Norah here at Organissimo, you might want to adjust those expectaions slightly downward... And if you come here solely to spam, please fuck off. Quote
JSngry Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 And if you don't come here solely to spam, then welcome! Sorry, left that part out. My bad. Quote

Distributors in different parts of the world set their first sales date completely independent of each other, according to their market evaluation, concurring tour or TV dates etc. - a well informed retailer told me this. How did you get to know about the organissimo forum, debbie? There's no link on the Blue Note website. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I am buzzing with excitement about the new Norah CD Thanks Debbie Just reach "down there" and hit the "off" button. It will go away. Quote

Norah Jones fan Posted January 13, 2004 Author Report Posted January 13, 2004 (edited) How did you get to know about the organissimo forum, debbie? There's no link on the Blue Note website. I can see I will not be welcome here so I will not write anymore. I wrote a review on the Bluenote site and someone emailed me, saying this site (organissimo) loves to discuss Norah Jones. I can see now I was lead into a practical joke. Song long. Edited January 13, 2004 by Norah Jones fan Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 All right, since this is the second time this particular Organissimo member has deceived fellow members by using an alias with the sole intention of fooling people, I am not going to go the ol' private email route like I did before with him and try to settle this behind the scenes. Word to wise, folks. Every post from every computer that you use leaves behind an IP address that I can see. I can instantly see exactly who is using what IP address or addresses, find all posts using such an address, find all users who have ever used such an address, etc. etc. So don't come in here pretending to be someone you're not. The rules clearly state: v. We do not tolerate multiple memberships or aliases: We allow one account per member. Anyone found to have multiple accounts will have one or more of those accounts deleted and face possible banning. So with that in mind, Norah Jones Fan has the same IP address as Jazz Groove who also has the same address as BLP 1577 who, as our older users may remember, also used the same IP address to create an account called Chicken Shack and proceeded to post a stupid announcement about Mosaic, just to stir the shit, back in July which can be seen here. Now he's doing it again, creating an account called Norah Jones Fan to come in here and stir up shit. Maybe you think it's funny, Jazz Groove, but I find it annoying and stupid. But rather than ban you, I figured I'd just let everyone know so they can make fun of you endlessly since you're acting like an idiot. Have fun! Fire away, folks. Quote
chris Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 And here I was just about to make a snide comment about pissing on people who knock on the wrong door. Still, if someone DID get directed here because they like Norah Jones, wouldn't it behoove more people to attempt to direct that fan towards some "good" jazz? It wouldn't hurt most of our favorites to get a few cross-over listeners, and it wouldn't be the first time it has happened. Case in point: my mother. I bought her the Norah Jones album when it first came out. I knew she would like it. She told me later that she was going to purchase some more jazz. I recommended Kind of Blue (of course). Since then she has-- on her own-- bought a few Miles discs, some Coltrane, and has some Monk and Gillespie on the way. Not bad for someone who otherwise would have been buying another Seals and Crofts greatest hits disc. Quote
chris olivarez Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Gotcha B3-er. Some people are in serious need of a life. Quote
