Big Beat Steve Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) Ha, Mike, you started with three that I also own. So I'll add three more from the same corner (music and/or label-wise). P.S. Can we just wait a little before the inevitable Robert Crumb covers are pulled up? That would be just waaay too obvious. Pleeeze! P.S.2: I see it has already happend (Earl Hooker). But still ... There just GOT to be plenty of others, less obvious ... Edited September 19, 2011 by Big Beat Steve Quote
Ted O'Reilly Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Yeah, bebop -- you got to my favourite right away. For those who don't know that cover, Larsen really captured Herb and Red, and it's perfect in other ways too...too bad it's so small in your post, and the details can't be seen. Quote

Free For All Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Gary Larsen? The story about that Jim Hall record cover was that when Larsen was asked to do the cover he said his price was one million dollars.....or one guitar lesson from Jim Hall. I'm assuming he got the latter. Quote

It was Herb Ellis (and the Doggin' Around record) and the amount was 5 million. Quote
