dear friends (in lisboa),

i`m in lisboa for four days from 27th to 31st of august.

do you have any recommodations, where we could go to hear good fado music (of course not the typical tourist-settings please ;-)),

where to hear good "modern"/contemporary jazz,

and where to go for a good vinyl-or-cd-shop?????

thank you for your help!!!!

dear manfred,

just coming back from my holidays from lisboa. there is a jazz bar in the bairro alto, rua do diário de noticias, 85, called "páginas tantas" with live music on the 30. august. pedro madaleno trio. the famouse hot jazz club at praca da alegria is now closed. i don´t know the new adress in the moment. the (only)? other jazz cd shop i know (beside the two "fnac" shops, without a large jazz departement) is "trem azul" at Rua do Alecrim 21 A. here is the page: http://www.tremazul.com/ but they have holidays ´till 07. september. there is another second hand shop at rua das pretas called "carbono". metro station: avenida. they have all kind of styles. the jazz festival in cascais is over now. (i think). so not a "jazz city" with lot of shops like paris, london or copenhagen. my wife is from lisboa and mentioned that you can hear fado in the bairro alto but this is also touristic. she don´t mentioned other places. sorry, but nevertheless i love this city!!!!!!

have a nice trip!

keep boppin´

marcel
