Some details. The session was initially released on the Mosaic Johnny Hodges 1956-1961 box.

Great music for those who don't have the Mosaic!

Before the Mosaic some of the tracks were released on the Storyville LP/CD Master Of Jazz, albeit with made-up tune titles, since the actual ones were not known at the time. Thus Shorty Gull was released as Cambridge Blue, for example.

I am a Johnny Hodges/Ben Webster nut, and even though I had the Mosaic Hodges set, somehow I thought this was something outside of the set. So I pulled the trigger, and it's the same darn thing. Perhaps I should have consulted the Mosaic booklet before pulling the trigger. AHHHHRRRGGGHH.
