Where can I find photos of Rudy Van Gelder's studios?

If you go to a Google search box and enter "Rudy Van Gelder studio" and then click on "images" on the left-hand side of the next screen near the top, some 44,OOO photos will come up. Most of them are just album covers and such, but there are some interior shots.

Seriously now? Had no idea such a thing existed!

Canon (and no doubt others) have scanners which come with an attachment that holds negative strips.

The one I have separates out the individual photographs on the strip and generates multiple image files, which greatly reduces the amount of effort involved.

I am not sure they all do that, some might produce one image that you then have to split off yourself into the individual pictures.

The German documentary on Jimmy Smith that's on youtube has video of him recording there with Grady, Ron Carter, Kenny Burrell in 1965 for Verve.

I don't like Rudy's piano sound either, but it's a famous one. Bob Neloms told me when he first recorded there and played a chord he freaked out a little because it was a sound he had heard so much on records -

I can attest to that myself. Particularly with the headphones on! There were two pianos in the studio. A newer one and the old one. I chose the old one. I'll try and dig out some photos from the date.
