alocispepraluger102 Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 i'm trying to talk zalaro vega into featuring a week on the radio of jazz musicians with names with scary connotations.. bassist norman bates would be on the list. perhaps the aptly named fiddler spade cooley wasn't jazzy enough. jack kevorkian was a flautist of considerable note. featuring kevorkian's music on funding week would be brilliant programming. other suggestions please....... papsrus Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Gorelick is a scary/creepy name, although you wouldn't want to include him in a week-long playlist. If you included bluesmen, you'd have some pretty fertile territory. Quote

marcello Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 I always thought that Wilfred Middlebrooks had a kind of scary name. Maybe it's just me. Quote
BillF Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Fell Could be scary, depending on how far he fell. I always thought that Wilfred Middlebrooks had a kind of scary name. He and George Wallington could feature in a 1930s English murder mystery. Quote

jeffcrom Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 Dick Hyman scares the hell out of me. I have lots of Mr. Hyman's recorded works in my collection. But my wife had never heard of him until about six months ago, when she came home and excitedly told me that she had heard a jazz pianist named Dick Hyman playing "Wang Wang Blues" on the radio.
