I'll be able to assist you, as I understand the need for your MPS vocal fix.

First, let me Tease the Korean by asking:

was the 'Snowflakes' disc somehow lost during the bacchanalia of your previous 'fondue fling'?

Don't get too excited. The Japanese version is a condensed 15 track one disc amalgam of the two disc set with one or two track variations and an obi-strip proclaiming it "Snowflakes - Japanese Editon". Identical exterior artwork with minor changes to the booklet. Catalog POCJ-1466, by the way.

Can someone please provide a link so that the rest of us can see what you are talking about?

It is a killer comp of early 70s funky/groovy/EZ stuff from the MPS label: Singers unlimted, later Horst Jankowski, Flirt and Dream by Francy Boland, etc. Very much along the lines of the early 70s 101 Strings sessions that Les Baxter and Nelson Riddle did, that decadent sound of strings and woodwinds hovering over politely funky rhythm beds, the music that Burt and Angie listen to at the ski lodge while drinking a sherry by the fireplace.

I lost the disc last winter when, ironically enough, I was auditioning various tracks for my ultimate fondue ipod compilation that was never made. Knowing my wife (I love her), she probably put the disc in the first empty case she found, so it could be years if not decades before I find it in a Gene Clark, Tim Buckley or Badfinger jewel case.

Bill, thanks for helping. I'll send you a PM.

Would you be willing to sell/trade one of your copies?

i'm afraid not. however, if bill falls through i'd be more than happy to burn disc 2 for you, drew. seeing as you were so kind with that soundtrack some time ago.

Yes, I'm still waiting on TTK's 'go ahead' and mailing address.

It was around '97 that the first E-Z 'German economic miracle' CDs appeared at the Dusty Bards.

'Snowflakes' was the best-of MPS and there were several others on Germany's Motor Music label.

The sound and production values are lush and uniformally excellent. Now they're all OOP and getting pricey.
