DobermanBoston Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 I must say that I don't really post on messageboards much these days, and when I came here as the result of a search on a Bill Dixon reissue I wasn't expecting to join. But then I saw that a user was called "clifford_thornton" and thought "How cool is that? I HAVE to register here now!" Anyway I'm a longtime musician and music fan, with my primary interests being jazz and rock (but, interestingly, not jazz-rock fusion so much). Thanks for having me. Quote

mjazzg Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 You've found a fun and stimulating place to be. and I'll add some appreciation for both Clifford Thorntons, the real one and the virtual_one who's post i regularly appreciate is this the start of a new trend - board member appreciation threads? Could outstrip the "covers with..." threads in popularity Quote
DobermanBoston Posted July 15, 2011 Author Report Posted July 15, 2011 Thanks everyone! Will do. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 Ha - please stick around, indeed. I only pay homage to the great brass multi-instrumentalist; obviously there's no relation. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 I thought all Cliffords were related. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 My dad once asked if Booker Little and Booker Ervin were related. In a non-literal sense, I guess they might be. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I'll pretend I didn't see that last one... Quote
JSngry Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 I'll pretend I didn't see that last one... That's the best of the three! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 yeah, but it's the most obvious one. I would like to go a week without being called that. I think if the real CT were ever called "Clifford the Big Red Dog," there'd be hell to pay. Quote
