jlhoots Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I was bummed to see that mine is shipping soon from Amazon. Jeez do they mean it might not even ship today? It's out today. I am going to be very bummed if I walk over to J&R today and see it on the shelves for a similar price. And I pre-ordered about a week ago. I preordered on July 28, & mine is still "shipping soon". jazzbo Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 I pre-ordered July 14. Still "shipping soon." I'm guessing the demand exceeded Amazon's estimated supply. It's okay, I'm patient and have so much to listen to/watch. Quote

AllenLowe Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 just to note - playing the samples on the Amazon site - they're out of order and listed incorrectly. Quote
Quincy Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 It's okay, I'm patient and have so much to listen to/watch. Has that suitcase from "Europe" arrived yet? If so you have a wee bit of listening. If not, there's always more critical Winterland flute level listening. Quote
John Tapscott Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) Just got the shipping notice. Since the Amazon Canada warehouse is literally minutes from my home I'll probably have it tomorrow. At least that's the usual pattern. Edited September 20, 2011 by John Tapscott Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Oh boy, I am the first person to bitch about the set. This will help my rep around here. My complaint is about the packaging - it's a 4 disc "digipak" made of a lighter paper stock than some and there is no pocket for the booklet. As soon as the shrink wrap is off, the book falls out. Now back to the music. Quote

Leeway Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 I'm still waiting for a shipping notice. They're saying "Delivery Estimate: September 26, 2011 - September 30, 2011." Same here. Annoying! Quote

They could at least have equalled the Dylan Bootleg Series that has pretty good packaging. (Mind you, iirc never has 4 discs.) Quote

7/4 Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Just got back from the store...looks like they designed the "cover" and forgot to include room for the book. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Mine arrived today, I'll crack it open later. Quote

PHILLYQ Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Listening to the first disc now and while I've heard this before from bootleg sources, this is even better. Now where the hell do I put the @#$%^& booklet! Quote
Jazz_Thrash Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Listening to the first disc now and while I've heard this before from bootleg sources, this is even better. Now where the hell do I put the @#$%^& booklet! If the european edition is the same (next week I will have it), I have others digipacks without any place to fix the booklet and my only solution to avoid missing it was to maintain the original wrap paper or to use another plastic to cover the digipack. In this way the booklet won't fall down when you take the digi. PS: With the years I have finished hating any type of digipacks, specially when they are so fragile as the Masada Book 2 from John Zorn - Tzadik... Quote
Pete C Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 Now where the hell do I put the @#$%^& booklet! You can shake it, you can break it, you can hang it on the wall. Quote
Free For All Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 I've been checking this out, and (needless to say) it's some truly amazing music. It's interesting to watch the band perform and see how Miles communicates to them both musically (like the way he leads Tony into the half-time feel on Agitation) and non-verbally (like when he puts his finger up to his ear to tell the guys to listen more carefully). And the occasional intense "Miles glare"........ Also interesting to hear the similar setlists played very differently from night to night (much like on the Plugged Nickle sessions). Best thirty bucks I ever spent! Quote
tranemonk Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 How can you put together such a great musical package and totally F*** up the design so there's no place to put the liner notes???:angry: Now where the hell do I put the @#$%^& booklet! You can shake it, you can break it, you can hang it on the wall. Quote
John Tapscott Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) Just got a refund of $4.27 from Amazon on the low-price guarantee. This really works! Cost me $32 plus change Canadian. Just now watching the DVD. Great deal, I would say. Edited September 23, 2011 by John Tapscott Quote
