mjzee Posted November 20, 2011 Report Posted November 20, 2011 I saw GregK's mention of Google Music on the Braxton thread, and followed it to check out the scene there. Found some great bargains: Braxton/Hemingway: Old Dogs - $3.99 Art Tatum: Storyville Box - $9.49 Ben Webster: Storyville Box - $9.49 I couldn't post any of the album images; Google's using a type that this BB won't recognize. mjzee Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 I've been delving into Indian music recently, and just found this: Amazon 11 1/2 hours for $4.99. I'm not sure what "Bhajan" is (perhaps some sort of religious song), but the samples sound interesting. Quote

BFrank Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 I'm not much of a Pink Floyd fan, and feel like Dark Side has been burned into my brain from massive over-play, but this is too good to pass up on Amazon. $2.99 2 "disks" - Total Length: 1:37:52 The Dark Side Of The Moon - Experience Version (2011 - Remaster) Quote

mjzee Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Amazon has a one-day sale today. No jazz, but some interesting recent pop albums for $1.99. I got Regina Spektor and the Black Keys; I already had the Beach Boys and Lionel Richie (don't laugh; it's a nice album!). Amazon Quote
medjuck Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks for the heads up. I just downloaded the Beach Boys. Quote
mjzee Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Believe it or not, those same downloads are now down to 99 cents each! WTF?!? Amazon Quote
RDK Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 Yeah, no longer available as it was a 1-day special, but they did send me a buck credit. Quote
Uncle Skid Posted July 4, 2012 Report Posted July 4, 2012 I received the $1 credit as well. I downloaded Bonnie Raitt's new one. Not many surprises, but overall, pretty good. Quote

mjzee Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Don't know if this has been mentioned before. While scouting around archive.org, I found 93 programs of the AFRS Jubilee. They're at 128 kbps, are all free, and can be downloaded in one shot (see VBR ZIP on the left side). archive.org Quote

Brings up a question about AFRS broadcasts that I should perhaps ask in the Discography forum: Were these actual concerts or were they pieced together from separate live performances? Quote
