Chrome Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I got a catalog in the mail the other day from the record company Sundazed, and among their offerings is a disc called "Peaceful World" from the Rascals, who I only know as a late '60s rock band. Any way, among the players on this disc are: Pepper Adams - Bass (Vocal), Sax (Baritone) Ron Carter - Bass Hubert Laws - Flute Joe Newman - Trumpet Chuck Rainey - Bass Ernie Royal - Trumpet Alice Coltrane - Harp Has anyone heard of this CD before or have any feedback about it? BFrank Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I never realized that all those folks were on that album. I think I had it at one point in the early 70's. I remember that there was a "jazz angle" to it, but I probably didn't 'get it' at the time. Quote

JSngry Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I vaguely remember those Rascals sides. There were two with a strong "jazz" flavor, as I recall. The other one was "Isle Of Rael", or something like that. They were done for Columbia, after they had left Atlantic. As I remember them, they were pretty interesting, semi-"spiritual" in nature, and not at all bad. Sort of "jazz-y/rock-y/soul-y". Don't know if I'd call them "successful", not as I remember them, but "interesting" rings a bell fersure. I'd like to revisit them. How much they selling for? Quote
