jostber Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 This new Roswell Rudd album got an interesting description over at Dusty Groove. Anyone checked this out yet? Quote
Peter Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 This is a fine disc. Eclectic, as is Rudd's MO. Some fine solos, but not enough Rudd for me. Never is. Quote
paul secor Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 The clips on Amazon sound truly interesting and eclectic. Quote
Chicago Expat Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) The clips on Amazon sound truly interesting and eclectic. To hell with Amazon's samples, you can stream (and purchase for nine bucks in just about any file format, including lossless) the entire album on Sunnyside's bandcamp page... Peter Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 (edited) For those interested in hearing Rudd in a more conventional setting, I strongly recommend "Double Crossing" by the Riccardo Fassi 4tet Featuring Roswell Rudd on Wide Sound. I got mine from Big River Books through Amazon. In a similar vein is "Eventuality: The Charlie Kohlhase Quintet Plays the Music of Roswell Rudd" with Rudd in fine form. This one's on Nada. Rudd seems to get more blowing time as a sideman than on his own records! Edited June 20, 2011 by Peter Quote
jostber Posted June 21, 2011 Author Report Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Thanks, sounds like I should check out more of Rudd's music. I like eclectic. Edited June 21, 2011 by jostber Quote
