The TV show is preserved at the UCLA film archive. I have never seen it but the Gigi group cannot be on camera for very long. There were several other acts on that show including a ventriloquist.

You are all whetting my appetite, both for the Gryce (sounds like a great mix of unissued studio and "live")and for live Hank. The Hank discography I have (Claude Schlouch) doesn't mention these, and although I know the Left Bank recordings with Kelly, the others sound VERY interesting, especially the ones with Griffin (I'm remembering the Blue Note jam session with Coltrane) I know there is some unissued Hank from a UK gig in the late 60s (Manchester?) which I've not heard, but as someone said recently, ALL Hank is essential Hank. And of course, Gigi was special as well, and I'm looking forward to this one.

Ordered the Gryce from Dusty Groove.

They sent me the message last night, but I totally forgot about it. I put in an order this morning, but they may have already sold out. I'll know soon...

Man the Gryce and the Brian Lynch are looking mighty appealing right now. If they'd only show up the end of August, I could wait to get them as birthday or anniversary presents. Its going to be a challenge to keep my wallet in my pocket for the next six weeks.

THAT would be a first for an album by Gigi Gryce!

Hope this CD will sell in huge numbers! One can always dream :)

Sometimes 10 (or 3) in sales is enough to sell out at DG. ;)

But they are pretty good about restocking the current titles.

it's all in Noal Cohen's great discography + the posts in this thread...

I thought the listing in the earlier posts weren't quite definite. I guess they are.

Just got this - great music, and wonderful notes by Noal and Mike.

Beautiful packaging as well. This is the way things should ALWAYS be done.

Bertrand.

Liner notes are great! Anyone else enjoying this one?

Picked it up at Sally's Place in Westport while visiting the parental units this past week. (good old Sally, isn't getting around as well as she used to but the store is going strong). Looking forward to finally giving this a spin very soon.
