It's "remastered" only in comparison with the older DVD sets that were previously released. The question has been asked more than once as to who's going to pay twice the cost of the Blu set to get the new DVDs. Even if you don't have a Blu-ray player already, you could buy one and the Blu set for less than the cost of the new DVDs. Dick Van Dyke is one of the shows that was filmed on 35mm film, and the Blu-rays look amazing. Edited April 7, 2016 by Dave Garrett Quote

The first couple of seasons were pretty strong, generally good stories with some good/interesting guest stars. Then I think the producers got kind of tongue in cheek with the concept, trying to replicate the success Batman was having. There was always an underlying sense of humor to many of the episodes, but I think they made it a bit more cartoonish for a while and that led to the shows' downfall. They tried to return to their original form in the final season, but it was too late by then. Still, I'd say it was a good adventure series, very much a product of its Cold War time Quote
JSngry Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 Ok, thanks. Sounds about as I recall it, taut, then shark-jumpy sillyish. Might be interesting to revisit at some point. Quote
