My wife Joan woke up before I did this morning and started reading The Times. She came into our bedroom and told me that there was a feature article about the daughter of the guy who started Cadence magazine marrying a musician.

I got up and read it and figured it might be worth sharing. So HERE it is.

Based on his work with the ICP Orchestra and the one album under his own name that I have, "What a Wonderful World" (a 2001 Louis Armstrong tribute, with bassist Dieter Manderscheid, on JazzHausMusik that partakes of the ICP spirit and that of Lester Bowie), Heberer is a fine trumpeter.

God damn. I was expecting a typical marriage announcement - two, maybe three paragraphs at most.

I could read 'happily ever after' stories like that all day long.

(Well, IF they involved people as interesting as that, anyway. )
