I've had the Blue Mitchell set for ages and enjoy it from start to finish. Nothing wrong with the last disc as far as I can see. Essential jazz. Gary Posted January 22, 2004 Report Share Posted January 22, 2004 strange, I just talked to mosaic this morning and they said that there are 272 of the blue mitchell set left and 212 of the atlantic new orleans set. Does this mean that Mosaic do not send the boxes out in number order ? As it looks as if we are getting them around about the 3500 region so there should be 1500 left ?? Its been my experience that they do not ship in strict numerical order. Anyway,someone reported that on January 9th, they contacted Mosaic and there were 200 sets left. They were selling at the rate of 30 sets per day. Doesn't leave much time left so............................... It's much better than I expected, I had only the first three sessions on individual CDs, and the larger ensembles are the real winner for me; great arrangements, good groove! They should have called it "The complete Blue Note Blue Mitchell - Junior Cook sessions", as it was their co-lead band, and cook plays great throughout, I've never heard him better.
