jazzbo Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 I'm thinking that I need to organize my purchasing better. Twice the last few months I've purchased John Coltrane items (that board policy doesn't allow me to sell) that I already had! Quote

ejp626 Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 I'm thinking that it looks very likely I am going to pick up and relocate again, this time to Vancouver. I am hoping that this time it sticks. I'm trying not to think about what will happen if it doesn't... Quote

ejp626 Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 I'm thinking that I never did buy Native Dancer on CD, but dammit, I'm pretty sure I did. I'm thinking I probably have one available -- and could check tonight -- if this is something you think you can't live without... Quote
jazzbo Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 Wow, e. Relocating again. I've been thinking of that possibility because my parents' health has become challenging. A big plus to be close to them, and my two brothers and their family. But. . . those winters. Can't ride a motorcycle all year round. And my friends here. . . . It's a hard decision to have to make. Luckily right now I don't think I HAVE to make it. Quote

Luckily right now I don't think I HAVE to make it. I generally have relocated for work-related reasons every 3-5 years. It doesn't phase me too much aside from the packing up the books and CDs. It's nice to think this might be the last time. Given my history, that's not too likely. Or what is almost as likely is that my wife and I might have to temporarily separate if her parents' health gets too bad in 5 or so years. Very hard to say at the moment. Quote
jazzbo Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 I dread the thought for the most part as I've lived in this town for almost thirty-one years now and have been in a house for nearly fifteen years. . . and boy have I collected a lot of stuff, not to mention I still have a lot of my late wife's stuff to deal with. But we do what we need to do. If I need to do it I know I will. Hope that if you have to, this is your last move for a long while! Quote

ejp626 Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 I'm thinking that I was starting to do pretty well selling some stuff through Amazon, and now I'm pretty sure I'm in the early stages of getting scammed on one item. It was to a US address, but the billing address was to South Africa (ZA). (Didn't think Amazon was supposed to be set up to allow this to happen.) At least I sent it delivery confirmation, but that won't help if they argue the quality is poor and then try to get a refund. Well, never again. If this becomes a problem, and I am not simply over-reacting, then I will definitely cancel any future transaction coming out of Africa (in fact, this really ought to be an Amazon setting, allowing international buyers but giving you more control over which countries are eligible).
