J.A.W. Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) Well, it seems as if Jimmy Lyon's album Jump Up is finally going to be released, which is great news for this Lyons' fan. Great album. I have the 1994 hatART CD issue. Edited March 30, 2012 by J.A.W. Quote
Matthew Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Nice to see you active again. A killer travel schedule. I only have one more major trip (five weeks in Africa in May/June), so I'm actually starting to have some free time to get back into music, and enjoying the pleasures of life again. Quote
king ubu Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Well, it seems as if Jimmy Lyon's album Jump Up is finally going to be released, which is great news for this Lyons' fan. Great album. I have the 1994 hatART CD issue. Same here... and hence (as in several other cases - Dark Tree, Konitz/Solal, Annette, VAO Satie) I'd wish for less reissues of (fairly recent) (re-)issues... though I'd love the Braxton Willisau to turn up again! The Lyons though, is truly great! Quote
JETman Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 I now have a copy of Jump Up! Where ya been? Quote

colinmce Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Really looking forward to that Ran Blake. I wonder if it's a rare ensemble recording from Mr Blake? I really hope he skips over that Matthew Shipp. It's a fine record indeed but can easily be had for less than $5 on the used market in either its hatOLOGY or original Brinkman edition. If I had to speculate based on past releases, we'll see the new dates come quickly; as for the older sessions I think MORNING JOY and DORTMUND will be along pretty soon, as well as the Dreyblatt, Shipp and Doran. TOPOLOGY, 8+3 TRISTANO and A WHITE LINE are probable in the next year maybe.. I don't see GARDEN, WILLISAU, or SANTA CRUZ coming anytime soon, or ever. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.Of course he's also been known to drop titles out of nowhere, like COMIN' ON last year.If you can't tell I spend entirely too much time and energy on this label Quote

JSngry Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 There's never been a CD reissue of the full Jump Up/What To Do About double LP, has there? Quote
Matthew Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 (edited) There's never been a CD reissue of the full Jump Up/What To Do About double LP, has there? There hasn't been, but some kind soul has posted all the songs from the double LP on Youtube, as well as the entire Push/Pull LP. Edit: My spelling and syntax still haven't improved... CraigP Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 I too am looking forward to the new Ran Blake and the Michael Adkins. His first for the label, Rotator, was great. Quote
djcavanagh Posted September 1, 2015 Report Posted September 1, 2015 This may be old news but both volumes of Garden (I & II along with the "Set I" reissue) and the Braxton Santa Cruz two disc set are available for (cd quality) download on qobuz. Quote
