Matthew
Hard to believe he passed away almost twenty years to this very day (April 20, 1991). I'll have to play the live Humble Pie album from the Filmore today -- very loud.
Teasing the Korean
I saw him live a few years before he died. He was in pretty rough shape physically. Vocally he could scream, but his voice had lost its elasticity. He was a great talent in his day, but hard living did him in early, sadly. danasgoodstuff
Loved him in the sm faces, not so much Humble Pie, why?
PHILLYQ
Saw him with Humble Pie and Frampton around 72/73. HP had the misfortune of following J Geils Band, and JGB was the opener and did two encores! They drove the place insane and the audience wouldn't let them leave. HP came on and played at a painful volume level. Halfway through their set the place was 3/4 empty with more people leaving.
JSngry
Quite apart from Marriott, is that Consider Yourself song not one of the most deeply irritating combinations of thought, word, and deed ever put in to place by one human upon another? 7/4
Quite apart from Marriott, is that Consider Yourself song not one of the most deeply irritating combinations of thought, word, and deed ever put in to place by one human upon another? I think it is.
