Larry Kart
Jordi Savall made his version using an ancient sounding mixed consort, relating to the counterpoint in the canzoni of Frescobaldi and the like. Bradley Brookshire: http://www.amazon.com/Art-Fugue-Bradley-Brookshire/dp/B00442FPMSBrookshire's "Art of the Fugue" isn't on You Tube, but his terrific recording of the French Suites is, and that will give you an idea:
Д.Д.
I love Bach, he is my favorite composer, but I just can't get a grip on the Art of the Fugue. I find it meandering and unfocused, I get really bored long before the end of it. Having said that, the Musica Antiqua Köln version is interesting. Thanks for the Brookshire plug, listening to French Suites right now, like the performance (and the sound) a lot. Edited February 6, 2015 by Д.Д. Larry Kart
I'm also fond of Andrew Rangell's "Art of the Fugue" (on piano), which can be heard on Spotify. Never heard an arrangement for an ensemble that worked for me.

Herreweghe Bach always pretty good with tendency towards the genteel; this goes for instrumental / orchestral sonorities as well as performance per se. Still pretty good but... Rene Jacobs #1 If you wanna try something else in genre, Telemann's Christmas cantatas are worth hearing-- the great C.P.E. Bachian Ludger Remy here conducting--
