JSngry Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 ...from sitting next to Miles Smiles for so many years? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 That is what outer sleeves are for! Quote
JSngry Posted April 16, 2011 Author Report Posted April 16, 2011 These are a relatively recent phenomenon..at least relative to when I put one on Sorcerer...1979, maybe? No later than 1985. Hell, I don't know. I went from not caring to caring back to not caring. It's kind of a neat thing, though...kinda like an indelible mark that these records have lived with each other long enough that they've been marked for life by each other... An analog artifact on another analog artifact, which is as it should be, like wrinkles and grey hairs and toenails that don't grow right any more. Quote
David Ayers Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 toenails that don't grow right any more. You got manky toenails? That's just nasty. Quote
JSngry Posted April 16, 2011 Author Report Posted April 16, 2011 I didn't say me, nor did I mean me. But it happens to a lot of people when they start getting old. It will probably happen to you, and it will probably happen to me too.. Now, does your back cover of Sorcerer have an orange ring on it? Quote
brownie Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Just checked my copies. They sit next to each other but since both are French CBS releases with laminated cover my Sorcerer's back cover is clean as an angel! Quote
JSngry Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 Laminated! Like a LP jacket condom, only built in! Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Can't see any orange stains on the files on my ipod. In time maybe. Quote

It seems I am also still so young and free that I don't have time to sort my LPs into chronological order. Although I did have time to put them in sleeve covers. Quote
JSngry Posted April 17, 2011 Author Report Posted April 17, 2011 Sounds like you're also young enough to have a collection where that's a practical undertaking! Quote
sidewinder Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 My first copy of 'Sorcerer' was/is an Italian mid-1970s issue from a time when the chance of finding 'Sorcerer' in any UK vinyl shops was about the same as picking up a Sun Ra Saturn. It actually sounds very good - although these days I tend to spin the US 2-eye and the mega box CD set version more. Always thought this one was very under-rated on the whole. Beautifully recorded. Teasing the Korean Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 I file LPs by artist but generally not chronologically, so albums get moved. I also unloaded stereo copies of those Miles albums over the years as I've found mono albums, so the actual copies have changed too. Quote
