JSngry Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 i'm fine with the u.s. mail Yeah, I am too. All things considered, one of the better deals out there, I also laugh at those who bitch & moan about hos slow the lines are at the post offices. If I had a dollar for every time I listened to somebody in line bitch and moan about how slow the lines were, only to finally approach the counter and then unpack unaddressed letters, unpacked packages, unseals bulk envelopes, etc. and then ask the clerks "how do I DO this", only to have the clerks graciously go ahead and do it for them while some other maroons in the line with simularly unprepped items in tow were simularly bitching and moaning about how slow the lines were, if I had a dollar for every time I saw and heard that, hell, I could probably buy the freakin' Post Office, ya' know? I'm sure we all got some isolated horror stories, but all things considered, make mine USPS. Quote

But in this day of curiously unerotic sexual explicitness and demystifying psychological close-ups, we are in desperate need of the feminine wiles that once characterized style icons like Marlene Dietrich, Babe Paley, and Jackie O. (I think a hat qualifies, Ladies...) It isn't what I do, but how I do it. It isn't what I say, but how I say it, and how I look when I do it and say it. (Mae West) The right hat may also enliven our imagination of the past....an old-fashioned cloche, a picture hat, or a toque trimmed with a pouf of polka-dotted veiling is just enough to make us feel as if we were living in another, romantic age. http://www.hatladies..._hat_quotes.htm a classic jeanne ruarke issue tea for two prez with king cole http://www.youtube.c...h?v=VAG_Yo8709o Edited August 22, 2011 by alocispepraluger102 Quote

alocispepraluger102 Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday this time-trashed morris minor was in the same spot when i was by this lot just off near north trimble a few years ago. "she is now gone for sure." i chanced by yesterday, and much to my delight, THERE SHE WAS(!!!!!), the ancient morris minor 1000 sedan, and the huge blue road coach with 1999 historic license tags, too!!!!! like a cat spotting a rottweiler, my head snapped round. i saw HER. there again were the parts men proudly built for her; some still gleaming. the men on another continent who built, drove, and loved..., and their cares and creations, are dust now, mostly. tree roots in cemeteries spike through their frozen hearts and thoughts as they sleep deep in their flimsy cradles; they are on their journies to wherever men of earth go. between you and me, if i happen by here in a couple of years, i hope she is....
