I have been trying to plug a few holes in my BW selection, namely

Frensh Ballads

Paris Moods

Modern Nostagia

I have found them on the Net, but they are SO expensive (out of my reach, moneywise), wonder why, can anybody tell me the reason why they cost so much. Maybe Brownie knows ?.

Barney Wilen lps, like Sonny Clark, command obscenely high prices on ebay. There is a high demand for them overseas -- why these artists in particular -- who knows?

There is a mystique around Barney Wilen (the same goes for musicians like Sonny Clark, Tony Fruscella among several others). All excellent musicians.

Wilen also moved fast and was playing with the likes of Miles Davis, Bud Powell by the time he was 20.

Most of his music has been scarcely reissued which make his albums fetch high prices!

Vic, I may have some of the CDs you are looking for. Will PM you when I have time to make a thorough search!

Have yet to encounter a reasonably priced original of this Mouloudji recording :(

Marcel Mouloudji, the singer, actor, poet and record producer:

Zodiac? I will soon place my copy in a safe!

Never heard the Franco Cerri

I recently loaned my copy of the RCA Barney at Club Saint-Germain LP (the cover only) to someone who is planning to reissue a vinyl replica from the original tapes. Not sure this will ever materialize!
