Would like to get Magic Sam's "West Side Blues" and "Black Magic" and Junior. Wells's "Hoodoo Man Blues" and "Live in Boston", but find myself balking at pulling the trigger as they are all a good bit pricier than I tend to go on blues CD's. If anyone has these laying around and would be interested in selling or trading them, please let me know. Or in the case of the first three, feel free to tell me I'm nuts, they're classic, and I need to just go spend the money to get them new off Amazon.

You do need the first three (though I would say I prefer West Side Soul over Black Magic). I haven't heard the new Junior Wells Release.

On the Magic Sam front, you also need another Delmark release called the Magic Sam Legacy, which is an assemblage of studio leftovers, but rather good.

Have you tried buying from the Jazz Record Mart website? They have pretty good prices on Delmark.

Amazon has Black magic for $12.78. That's too expensive?

I got that in high school a looooong time ago. I didn't really get it at first.

These days I reckon it's some kind of zenith in sharp urban blues. Brilliant!

Yes, the first three are classics. Live in Boston is nice for the atmosphere and the fact that he is playing with the Aces. But it is far from a classic (IMO). Junior is quite drunk and doesn't really keep it together, as was common at his concerts of that period.
