i got the dizzy and the blakey ones a bit ago. really good sound quality on both.

£5.99 is a good price. might have to have a look for that cannonball 2CD set. thanks for the info.

Other RTE/Europe1 recordings have been reissued by Laserlight as well. Yesterday I was at the FNAC in Brussels and saw a Miles Davis 1973 concert and a CD with two Jimmy Giuffre recordings from 1960 and 1965, for 6 Euro each. Both have been available before on french labels, but at a higher price.

I have the Giuffre set and while the music is good (the 1965 session is slightly out), listening is marred by the intolerant behaviour of the Paris audience (which also whistled during Coltrane's more explorative 1960 solos).

Anyone got any opinions on the Clarke/Boland Big Band set in this series? (sounds like a no-brainer at £5.9 in any case)..

Very good performance, clear and full mono sound. A no-brainer indeed.
