BillF
Just been listening. Some great music here! Mabern's solo on "Valerie", the first track played, is sensational! Pleased to hear there's going to be a show on latter-day Mabern. I particularly like his work with Eric Alexander.

ghost of miles
Up a final time in memory. When I saw Harold at the Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis I showed him this program on my cellphone, and he seemed pleased that I’d put it together, which made me happy too. I never got around to doing a sequel. Ken Dryden
I interviewed Harold Mabern in the past year or so and need to put together a program with his music. His enthusiasm was contagious.

Ken Dryden
Between 2003 and early 2019 I recorded a number of phone interviews with artists for transcription or articles. There's only so much space and I often have enough interview material and music to create 2 or 3 two hour programs. The hardest thing has been finding available studio time, as I can't do digital editing at home and the station has an active news department, student producers and staff competing for studio time..
