THERE MAKIN A JOE ALBANY MOVIE? DUDE BROWNIE ME N U WILL BE THE ONLY GUYS IN THE MOVIE THEATRE WHO HAVE ANY JOE ALBANY RECORDS, LOLZ

I've got a couple and they are VERY good. "Two's Company" with NHOP (Steeplechase) and "Portrait of An Artist" (Elektra)

The movie should be rather disturbing if this is any indication:

actually, Joe would probably have liked that - he had that kind of sense of humor.

you know, I do hope they get it right, historically speaking, I have a theory that I'm the only one who knows why he and Bird never worked together after the Finale gig.

No, I haven't any records with him as leader - have him on some Lester Young sides - but I did see him play solo piano in a Manchester pub on a tour arranged in the 70s by British record producer Tony Williams.

Didn't Spotlite put out an Albany LP at the time? In fact, I think I've got it buried away in one of the racks..

Spotlite released two Joe Albany LPs - Joe Albany at Home (Spotlite JA1) and Proto-Bopper (Spotlite JA3).
