Man with the Golden Arm Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 The TOCJs kick Mosaic 50s like Jack Lambert on Mike Phipps! Quote

sidewinder Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Get the Mosaic vinyl set ! This is an inside joke, right? The Mosaic vinyl is the best sounding version of this material that I've heard, in the absense of mint original Lps, IMO. But then, I'm biased.. Quote
LWayne Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 I did! LWayne I did!means that I bought the Mosaic CD box. I did not think that this set was ever offered in heavenly vinyl.Correct? LWayne Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I did! LWayne I did!means that I bought the Mosaic CD box. I did not think that this set was ever offered in heavenly vinyl.Correct? LWayne Wrong. It was also released (in 1998) as a Mosaic 10LP-set; it went OOP a long time ago. Quote
Clunky Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I've Poppin on TOCJ, the Mosaic CD version and a couple of the titles on King LPs. All sound just fine to me. Quote

I recall that being Mosaic's policy, but could not find the Vinyl LP set as "out of print" on their website. However, Mosaic CD set sounds fine to me. I won't compare to TOCJ sound as it is too close to call. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 The mono and stereo versions of 1568 are slightly different. My solution is copies of TOCJ-9064 (JRVG) and TOCJ-1568. Quote
mellowT Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Wrong. It was also released (in 1998) as a Mosaic 10LP-set; it went OOP a long time ago. I've actually never seen one of these for sale, but then again I don't normally scan the LP listings. If the CD limit is 7,500, what was the vinyl limit? Quote
sidewinder Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 The Mobley vinyl set went OOP quite a few years ago (2003 or earlier I think) - I don't think there were too many produced. Appears occasionally on ebay. Quote

Kevin Bresnahan Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 Regarding the Mobley vinyl set, I thought I read somewhere that the last 500 copies were bought by a Japanese dealer? The same dealer is supposed to have wiped out several Mosaic titles on vinyl. Horace Parlan & Grant Green maybe? Quote
Dmitry Posted March 10, 2011 Report Posted March 10, 2011 About $350-400 average. $35-40 per record. Quote
riverrat Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 pm re Hank Mobley TOCJ-1568 (no OBI) This is still available. My mistake, and apologies to LWayne. Quote
