Thanks guys for responding. We hope to reprint the book at some point but not sure when or how. The original publisher went belly up. Maybe we'll do it as an ebook. But however we do it, it won't include the discography or the 2 appendices because we want them to be able to be updated regularly which isn't possible, of course, with hard copy. Also, eliminating those 3 sections will reduce the size of the book by about 100 pages which will make it more economical to publish and perhaps more attractive to a potential future publisher. I'd like to see the economy pick up some more before we do anything.

But those 3 sections are going to be available online for the future.

Admirers of Thompson also should try to track down Tad Shull's insightful essay ""When Backward Comes Out Ahead: Lucky Thompson's Phrasing and Improvisation" in the "Annual Review of Jazz Studies 12, 2002." Shull is himself a talented tenor saxophonist who made several recordings for Criss Cross.
