brownie Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 (edited) Marte Roling Undated but not very old images. And she still looks pretty good! Wonder what kind of cigar she smokes! Edited January 26, 2006 by brownie Quote
Peter A Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Marte Roling Undated but not very old images. And she still looks pretty good! Marte Röling made a famous portrait of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands: Actually she is quite close to the queen. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 So how much does one have to pay for a copy of the Fontana issue of "Tears for Dolphy", or a Japansese reissue? I paid about a bill for the original, but there is a Japanese reissue that you could get for about $20-$25 I would think. Quote

sidewinder Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 So how much does one have to pay for a copy of the Fontana issue of "Tears for Dolphy", or a Japansese reissue? I think I paid £15 for an excellent copy of the UK Fontana with the Roling sleeve - that was a pretty good find. Quote
sidewinder Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 Admittedly found this old thread googling Danish Debut because I really want DEB-138! I actually have that Cecil Taylor on the Danish Debut. Not a bad copy either. :rsmile: Quote
clifford_thornton Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 That is pretty cheap for the Curson. Did you get the Cecil from James? Quote

One hard to find vinyl was the Ted Curson 'Urge'. Never saw a copy of the original release and had to settle for a Japanese reissue! Quote
sidewinder Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 That is pretty cheap for the Curson. Did you get the Cecil from James? Indeed ! Brownie - why is it that you always get these LPs for less than me? I have the 'Urge' also but on the Japanese pressing. The other Roling Fontanas I have are the British pressings of the Dollar Brand and the New York Art Quartet. Quote

I have almost all of those Roling. Don't have some including the Dollar Brand and the Rod Levitt! Quote
sidewinder Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 Aha, of course ! I think I might have seen the Roling Rod Levitt on Paris Jazz Corner's site on one occasion. I have the US Riverside issue - great LP. The Dollar Brand I picked up in a local shop for £5. Not mint but not too bad either. Quote
