Dmitry Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 Chuck, why did Monterose sue Schlitten? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 I found one in 1966 - still sealed. Sadly, I sold it to finance my cds. Understandable though... I always say if I have a kid to send to college, the records go. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Because he knew/thought he didn't have rights and as a result JR didn't make any money. Quote
sidewinder Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 If I had the kind of cash lying around for an original, well, it'd be a different story. I've never seen an original JARO Monterose for sale. The only original I ever spotted for sale had the mono LP inside a stereo cover. Went for over £400 I think. Quote

Bluerein Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Spinning the Japanese CD reissue (with the correct Jaro cover) from 1997 (Venus TKCZ-36020). It's stereo with some distortion on all instruments at times. Not that bad for the time. I've heard worse recordings from later in the 60's. Quote
JohnS Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 Fine album, really deserves its place in The Essential Jazz Records. Quote
