Old cars & motorcycles are great to look at, no doubt; but in general, they really aren't anywhere near as fun to drive as a modern car, especially those old American boats that cornered like a whale. And don't get me going on those old Indian motorcycles with the suicide foot clutch, stick shift, left hand throttle advance & right hand spark advance. The starting bids usually aren't that high, and there is no reserve to meet. The market is the market. If I could sell LPs for the prices JRC gets, I would be doing the same thing.
