The Michael Cosmic "peace in the world" LP just sold for over $2,000 on eBay today.

Clifford; this makes the $500 invested in your copy an absolute bargain!

Ouch!

Well, it's on my wantlist too, but obviously nowhere near that price.

In general (rare) free jazz seems to be doing very well on Ebay these days. Earlier this month, the Khan Jamal on Dogtown finished at $1700+.

OK, this is a CD madness, but a true madness all the same.

Jean-Luc Ponty Enigmatic Ocean Japanese CD from 2015, without OBI. US$ 20,000. You can see this seller has other (probably) equally unrare things for equally insane prices available. I can kind of understand Amazon sellers asking outlandish money for not-so-rare things (like: I have it, I'm not particularly interested in selling, but for a thousand bucks I can part with it), but this it just ridiculous. If I'm not wrong eBay takes percentage of every listing, even if it does not sell, in this case it must be heavy. Probably more than this CD is worth in Shibuya Recofan.

I'll assume that this Japanese seller is typing in Yen values and not realizing that it's coming up dollars. Still, even with this mistake, 20,000 Yen is $177 US dollars - still a crazy asking price for this CD, which does not appear to be very rare.

Discogs Top 30 Most Expensive Items Sold - November 2018

Miles Davis – The Complete 1963-64 Columbia Recordings  Sold for $1500.00

Kenny Burrell – Blue Lights, Vol. 2  Sold for $1875.00

J.R. Monterose + The Joe Abodeely Trio – In Action  Sold for $2392.00

I admit that if I'd have most of Columbia originals, I would be tempted to sell my copy.

Not really Ebay madness but some Discogs madness.... Check out the October top 30 most expensive items.... Quite a lot of jazz in it:

Fats Navarro's Memorial Album for 1318 dollars, Horace Parlan's Us Three for 1675 dollars, Clifford Jordan's Blowing in from Chicago for 2300 dollars. An the top one: Albert Ayler's Something Different for 2300 dollars?!?!?! You must really not know how to spend your money if you pay 2300 dollars for a very subpar Ayler record....

I noticed that Albert Ayler’s Something Different! sold for $2,400. What was different was the price, although I don’t think that’s what Albert had in mind.

I’m not sure if it is as that’s a Mile Davis Prestige collection.

I don’t think it’s those sets either but they definitely are original given the test pressing date is from 2000

King Pressing of 'Inventions and Dimensions' went for $178,50. This title is getting increasingly more expensive and I have waited too long.

Unfortunately, the recent reissue from Blue Note was marred by flutter/speed problems.

Ridiculous !

i have the MM 2x45, more than happy with it and don’t recall any issues with it.
