clifford_thornton
Monos of that title are expensive, routinely. I got my orange/black stereo for $15.
porcy62
Monos of that title are expensive, routinely. I got my orange/black stereo for $15. It could be, I just bought a mono RVG from Jeff Barr at $ 50. Edited April 19, 2007 by porcy62
EKE BBB
Albert Ayler - Something different --> highest bid at 1.500 USD; bid ends tomorrow
tjluke68
I have a copy of that Coltrane and it's a cutout (or maybe it was a promo copy back then) with the little hole in one of the corners. Not sure if I have Mono or Stereo. I bought it at a store or garage sale; it was opened, yet was still in the shrinkwrap when I got it - the gatefold hadn't even been cracked open.. I kept it that way for a while but recently took off the wrap after reading how it could warp the cover, etc. Probably my favourite Coltrane disc, just for the first track alone, Out of This World (I believe). Allan Songer
Looks like someone got a nice deal on this one: Mobley Mosaic No kidding ! Did you notice the category? "Entertainment memorabilia--big band posters." Think maybe if this set was listed under "records--jazz" the seller would have done a bit better? Jeesh . . . . sidewinder
That explains it. I was thinking for a moment that Mobley Mosaic vinyl had undergone rampant instantaneous de-flation. runsgood99 cleans up again ! ep1str0phy
Anyone find out what happened to that copy of the Marzette Watts Ensemble Savoy mentioned on the "Nothing Is" blog a couple weeks ago? The seller's name (on ebay) was 04elissa.
Chalupa
it went for over $250. edit: actually there were two copies one went for $250 the other sold for $350.67. Edited April 24, 2007 by J.H. Deeley
clifford_thornton
The French dude sold it for $350. It's too much, I think, considering what others in the series go for, and the fact that the Curran and the Valdo are far rarer. I mean, it's GOOD but c'mon... Oh, well, the Valdo isn't Dixon-produced, but you get what I'm saying.
ep1str0phy
Another question: what should a good condition, first-run copy of Paul Bley's Barrage go for? I've seen prices all over the place.
clifford_thornton
$40. Great record. I'm still pissed that the Watts goes for at least twice what it's worth, but damn, most of it does.
clifford_thornton
I mean, ok, the Watts was $200 more than it should've gone for, but this is ree-fucking-diculous: Khan Jamal on Dogtown

ep1str0phy
DAAAAAAAMN! Thank God, Thank God we live in the reissue/digital era. 'Cause I would never have gotten to hear that one... clifford_thornton
It NEVER used to go for that much. Absurd!

brownie
$4,500 for this Mobley Pretty sure that Hank Mobley never made that kind of money when he was playing!
