Big Al
Looks like the jackass who set his high bid at a grand wasn't expecting someone to snipe $933.33! Ouch!

Dmitry
How to (re)use a Blue Note United Artists cover (Stairway to heaven). What do you mean?
michel1969
I mean that i doubt that the cover of this one is a REAL "lex" era record. This one was reissued on United Artist with a clone cover. You can find it, but frequently those UA are "cut corner". I have never seen a Blue Note Lex with a cut corner. So I may be wrong but.... -_-

michel1969
This is truly a great record, but this seems like a BIT much: Blues-ette Every time he's for sale, bidders become crazy. i don't know this one. So great ?

So great ? Oh, yes! Find it on CD and order it today. The hardest swinging of all of Curits Fuller led dates. Golson plays so well here and the whole band is as tight as a . . . The best rendition of "Five Spot After Dark" ever. The 70's Savoy vinyl reissue is cheap and sounds fine, by the way . . .

michel1969
Most expensive Savoy are now : Curtis Fuller, Sahib Shihab, Prsenting Lee Morgan, Jazz Message Mobley, Detroit jazzmen, Lateef Prayer to the East... right ? Maybe also, Joe Wilder, Kloolk's clique often more thant 150 now... any other forgotten ?
clifford_thornton
The Marzette Watts, oddly enough... Last "clean" one went for $500, and a water-damaged one hit almost $300! clifford_thornton
It's really good, but it doesn't exude the hardbop-collector damage that some other titles do. I guess some of the "free" guys have big wallets, too, though rarely for anything other than private-press titles.

The 3 Bill Barron LP's are pretty rare too.
