Found this photo yesterday. Probably taken in 1986 in Hamburg. Long story....but a friend and I crashed at this couple's place after a long drive back from Poland. He was a mini-bottle collector. Every wall in the place had shelves lined with 'em -- all full, of course. I'd never heard of such a thing. Packing that stuff up for a move would have to be a royal pain.

At one time I had a fairly substantial collection of Veronica Lake memorabilia. I've also collected old radios and red and white kitchen utensils and kitchen furniture. I also kept all my Steiff hand puppets and Matchbox toys from when I was a kid. Lastly, a fair number of the old double fold Rolling Stone magazines from the '60's and early '70's.

Shot glasses

Ever since my ex wife took off in 2004/2005, I've taken at least 2 vacations a year with my boys. It started with them wanting to by me a memento of the trip.

It appears that every tourist destination has shot glasses and all sorts of things upon which their names are emblazoned. Shot glasses might be the the least expensive and given that my boys were 7 an 9 at the time - shot glasses were perfect. I've now got almost 50 shot glasses with the names of attractions ranging from Quebec City to Shenandoah and Acadia to Chicago. Turned out to be a fun idea.
