Hardbopjazz Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Wow, $749 dollars for a box set!!! I guess 43 discs and a lithograph of a Miles' drawings and a few other extras makes this set the most expensive set I've seen. I can't see spending this much for this. Anyone here would ever consider getting this set? link Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 It was available for half that one day (or was it week?) earlier this month. There was much mention of this on the Steve Hoffman board. Combined with a 10% discount coupon-code, I think people were getting it for something like $330. Quote
manfred Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 wowh! great, i would take that...... Quote
BFrank Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 It originally retailed for about $1,200..........so, it IS a deal! Quote

sidewinder Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) Anyone else spring for this box/tour-de-force? Mine arrived today - finally treated myself to it, took less than a week to get here from the US and I'm very impressed by the overall quality. Turns out this one is no. 446 - a bargain, at £200 inc. postage and packing via UPS to the UK. I'm going to give the mouthpiece a tootle it looks very usable. Edited March 8, 2013 by sidewinder Quote
jazzbo Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 A cool set. No use to me as I have all the material within. It would be cool to have the case and the mouthpiece (which I would probably give to my trumpet-playing pal Dave) but too much money just to have those in my case. Quote
sidewinder Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) I'm amazed how good the build quality of the case is, just like the real thing. I'll likely end up selling my duplicate CD sets at some stage - just too bad that you can't fit the Plugged Nickel box in the spare space in the case. Jazzbo - I saw a copy of the set with everything sans CD boxes on ebay the other day. Might be just the deal for yourself, if it is still around. Edited March 8, 2013 by sidewinder Quote
jazzbo Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Ah, I don't need it. I'm packing up my stuff slowly now and realizing how crazy my collecting is. It's a good thing I've managed to not buy this set the last few years and I'm not going to undo that now. Quote
