Rooster_Ties Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Printing this for my father-in-law, who's half to three-quarters Swedish, and see what his take is. He's got relatives over there if you go back a couple generations. Quote
rostasi Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 Yea! for Donald and anybody who loves him. The Germans too have a love for D.D. and books on him are one of the best ways to learn German (and Dutch too!) Around this house, two unsung heroes - Donald Duck and Chococat - are very well-represented. Quote
Daniel A Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 The article is correct. Back when I was a student I used to fill in as a bus driver in Stockholm during Christmas because of the allowance, and during the hour when the Donald Duck show was aired the streets (and buses) were literary empty. A Lark Ascending Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 I'm surprised one of the Scandinavian crime writers hasn't used this for a gloomy mystery - twas Christmas Eve and everyone in Ystad was watching Donald Duck; totally unobserved in the town square a man fell to the ground... sonnymax Posted December 23, 2010 Report Posted December 23, 2010 If the French have Jerry Lewis and the Germans have David Hasselhoff, I'm all for giving the Swedes a pass on Donald Duck. Quote
