paul secor Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) Nice publicity for Mr. Schnabel. If he were still around, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. Edited December 20, 2010 by paul secor Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 Silly me for thinking Jazzbo would say "Wow". Quote
paul secor Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 stupid link provided. Here is the correct site: http://analogmutant.wordpress.com/2010/12/18/interview-with-chuck-nessa-nessa-records/ This link works. Nothing to be embarassed about. Good (too short tho) interview & many of us here are interested. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Silly me for thinking Jazzbo would say "Wow". What I actually said was "Wow!" I think it's warranted. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 For the Schnabel Mozart, I agree. Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Those photos look like the place where I went to Grad School.... Quote
GA Russell Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Chuck, it looks like you've got a few CDs in your house! Quote
jazzbo Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I got the Mozart pic. Said "Huh?" Thought a sec. Did a google search for "Chuck Nessa 2010" and that was the third hit. Posted "Wow!" I'll take your word for it that the Mozart deserves the "Wow." Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 It has had a wow from me for about 40 years (in the component parts). Schnabel is a favorite. Quote
Big Al Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 What's to be embarrassed about? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) I am very happy to pimp my recordings but feel uncomfortable when it is about me. edit to say video will follow. Edited December 20, 2010 by Chuck Nessa Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 Nope - pure money grubbing stuff. Quote
papsrus Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Some stuff I learned: Chuck is left handed. He spends a lot of time in the basement. RVG could not possibly have been involved in 'The Maze' recordings. There are many more things yet to be revealed. Thanks for posting the link. Quote
gslade Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Looking Forward to the new releases Quote
John L Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I am very happy to pimp my recordings but feel uncomfortable when it is about me. You are a part of jazz history. I thought that you would be used to it by now. Quote
JohnS Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Good stuff, thanks for the link. Quote
jazzbo Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I understand Chuck, but remember that interest and information about you is a doorway to more attention and interest in the artists. And I know you value that. Quote
Christiern Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I am very happy to pimp my recordings but feel uncomfortable when it is about me. edit to say video will follow. I know what you mean, Chuck, but what would be the point of creating things if nobody else became aware of them? I don't think I'm rationalizing when I sat that here should be no shame attached to most shameless plugs. Certainly not yours—that was a good and well-deserved writeup, but more is warranted, If you are reluctant to expose yourself, there are others—I include myself—who gladly will do so. Geoffrey Holder once told me that he doesn't really like it when people come up to him in public places, waving a pen or looking like they just found a pot of gold. He doesn't like it, but he would like it even less if they did not recognize him. I understand that, because I am often embarrassed when, in the presence of others, I come across effusive praise for my work (it does happen), but I am never unhappy about it. Ego is like a vitamin pill that we all need but would rather not taste—or something like that. Let's get more NessaNews out there! Quote

AllenLowe Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I like praise but I prefer cash (small, unmarked bills) Quote
